Bottle o’ beer and a pint o’ ice cream…
Is it really that bad, sitting with the company of a cat, on a Sunday afternoon at about 2pm(ish) and enjoying a bottle of Grolsch beer and a pint (well ~500g, but pint sounds better) of Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food?
Well of course! How could ‘today’s youth’ be drinking at 2pm on a Sunday! Preposterous I say! Goood Lord! Heaven’s not! By George I think they’ve lost it!
Hmm yes… I guess you might say that. Or not. Probably not. Hopefully not because if you sound like that, well, you sound like every person that lives in my town. Old and senile.
Anyway the reason why I was enjoying two of the most sinful pleasures currently available to me is because simply, I just fancied relaxing!
Work yesterday was typical to that of a Saturday. Busy. Tiring. Brainless. And utterly pointless. Okay, maybe not the latter, but it sure feels like it most of the time. Oh why oh why couldn’t I just be paid for being stupendously weird and crazy? Providing some sort of… weird (in no way explict) entertainment?
Well that’s never going to happen. Poop. In the meantime however, I’ve been roped into working extra on Wednesday (5-10pm). Double drats! I work Thursday evenings normally and that can be enough to kill me sometimes! Garr!
Plus, my manager had the cheek to quickly hint excessively that help was needed for this morning. Weird enough without asking anyone else. So I sacrificed my routine lie-in (normally no later than 9am) to help out from 9am-12pm.
So by the time I’d gotten home, (exhausted and smelly), and then having to clean the kitchen, feed the cat, put the dishwasher on, do the laundry… it felt only fair to reward myself with familar friends Grolsch, Ben, and Jerry.
Of course, since 2pm I have visited them all again since. Well, it is 10:58pm now.
Sounds like a way to relax. Although to me I wouldn’t drink beer, I would rather hard liqour. Ben & Jerrys ice cream is totally yummy!! I hope that you had a relaxing day & enjoyed yourself!
Relaxation is always the best. I don’t know how to relax for nothing in the world but eh, lol I’ll take lessons from you. =]
Oh sounds good. I live in Finland where we don’t have Ben & Jerry’s, but luckily I ate it while I was in London. It was tasty! Yummy.

I hope you don’t go crazy from working so much. I know what it feels like lol. Today I have the day off and then work two more and then they gave me three days off in a row. I would rather be working during those three days but what can I do.
Work can be terribly stressful. I won’t work for a large company again because of this. Meetings, calls at late hours, deadlines. I was never one of those people who had to have a drink until I started working for a large company.
Find a job you love and you’ll find work itself relaxing :).
Work is always so typical. Boring, boss is dumb, stressful, and did I mention boring?
Nothing wrong with engaging in beer and icecream..even though I’m not much of a beer fan myself, but everyone needs that piece of heaven away from reality sometimes.. and its usually with food lol…
It’s ok to be doing that at 2 p.m. This morning I saw a dude with a 12 pack of Tecate and a fifth of Jack at the corner while taking my kids to school.. at 8:30 in the morning.
