Howdy Doody

Yes hello. Remember me? Na, didn’t think so. I don’t either, it’s ok - we’ll leave via the back door. Just make sure you’re quiet, ok?..

Hush hush now.

What the hell am I on about? Well, since it’s been almost two months since I last posted, it seems a bit like the site has been forgotten.

But no! In actual fact I don’t think I’ve ever spent as much time thinking about it before than I have these past weeks.

That’s the problem - I was thinking but not doing.

Sure, college finished and my time was stripped away whilst savouring the last few moments before being subjected to summer. But come on! I must have had the odd few moments to quickly make some sort of post?

Yes I did. Many odd moments in fact. Many times I did come close to posting but for some reason never got there.

To be honest I don’t know what happened. And as days and weeks passed I started asking myself why I even have a blog if I don’t post regularly. (The idea of a blog is to post regularly, right?)

But then I don’t know why I do have a blog. I have no idea what made me jump onto the blog bandwagon. So, without a reason behind blogging, and without the action of blogging, should I therefore stop?

No! I don’t want to! It’s only recently that I’ve realised how much I actually enjoy maintaining and running this website. Yeah, I could keep the website and stop blogging - but I don’t want to stop blogging either!

I have yet to produce any interesting blogs, but what I find I like about this whole thing is that I post something - even remotely boring, and people comment. Sure, they have to thanks to comment exchange websites - but still, they comment.

And each comment means someone has read into a tiny corner of my world; someone is actually listening to the garbage I say.

At the end of the day, I think that’s the whole reason I am blogging, the juice that got me into blogging in the first place - I just need(ed) someone to hear me! I’m sure that’s why most people blog - to be heard, but honestly, this goes deeper, more personal for me. Really.

Wow. Revelation time, eh? No! God no! But it’s important for me, before I start trying to blog regularly (and I really want to - maybe even daily! - Lordy!) that I understand for myself where I’m coming from, and I guess it may be important for you too. Or not. But it might help explain something.

Well before this post gets long and boring - if it’s not already, I’ll draw things to a close. I’m sure you’ve got much better websites to be viewing, or things to be doing. Thanks though!

P.S. The site got redesigned. All info is here, the design is called ‘nigma‘.

  1. hello:) I love your site is so original and your blog is not boring at all! so don’t stop blogging:) and keep up your exellent work.
    melissa

  2. I don’t know why I have a blog either lol. I think it’s fun… I guess.

  3. To be honest, I probably started the blog because of the little attention seeker in me. I used to update daily but now even though equally interesting (to me) things happen, I just hardly hit the publish button anymore… I’m still happy with it, though. It’s somewhat the way I wanted it. A blog for fun, not work. :)

  4. This was like me when I couldn’t keep up to blog often. I let my site sit there for almost a year. I blog once or twice a month, but now I’m starting to blog again. Most of the time, I had so much to rumble about, but when I’m about to type them all, my mind go blank. Urgh. Yes, I blog to be heard, to let out what I feel. Then I would feel better.

Your blog is not boring…hehehe..mine would be.. :D

  5. Hey there! I love, love the colours of your CSS! Hmm, I remember when I used to like never blog for months regularly. I used to think that it got boring, but now I like it? I don’t know. If I got rid of my site, I’d miss it too much. I guess it’s a part of me now? Ha, I don’t know. Anyways, take care!

  6. Thanks for the comments so far guys! Well girls really, but you know what I mean!

@ Cassie - I’m glad someone loves the colours besides me! I’m totally in love with the design at the moment - if possible!

  7. I know what you mean. I almost got rid of my blog once because I didn’t really have time for it. But I remembered, when I don’t blog I feel like I’m keeping things inside more than I should/normally do.
Anyways…glad you arn’t getting rid of yours.
    Beautiful layout.

  8. I blog to let it out. I dont care if no one reads it: to get it all down somewhere helps me get over what i’m feeling. Like at school when what someone has said to me really bugs me, or when someone annoys me for some reason blogging about it makes it easier to bare, like releasing pressure.

  9. Mari does that too, sometimes. Like, right now, for instance. Mari SHOULD be making a new layout (or studying), but would rather just stare into space.

It’s good to see you blogged again. I kept visiting this site because I got hooked on the domain name (and to poach plugins), and noticed there were things weird with the display in your loop…and it was kinda depressing to see a site with such a clever name be neglected.

You should try to write about what you think about, if this is a personal blog for you. Just write whatevers’ on your mind. Whether you’ve been staring at your toes or whether you’ve been contemplating the meaning of life, just get it out. Once you empty your mind, you have room for more thoughts!

  10. I agree that blogging just lets your thoughts out. It’s the feeling of knowing that someone has been listening to you, even if they had been forced to . :P
There was a time that I dropped blogging for more than a year or so, and then I realised how much I missed it. It’s kind of like writing a diary, except it’s public and it’s trendy. :D Low updates may annoy other people, but as owners I’m sure we’ll always love our little creations/corners of this huge web world.

  11. Ahh don’t think like that! Plenty of people want to listen to what you want to say =)

But the point of blogging is partly because you need an outlet, and the comments let you know that people are reading and that they CARE! XD

Your blog is only as interesting as you make it (corny, huh? I stole it off my Art teacher). If you wrote down your thoughts, your feelings and the like, then it’d be interesting =)

  12. I think blogging is fun, fun, fun! It makes me smile to get comments.

  13. I abandoned my blog for half a year and when I started blogging again, I STILL got comments! Now if that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is.
Sometimes I wonder if my blog readers love me more than my parents do.

  14. i’ve been neglecting the blogging thing recently, too…well, i just think it’s like with most of the things in life, your priorities shift from time to time. but i’d never stop blogging, either, because a) i really enjoy writing stuff and b) like to share my thoughts .. :)
( by the way, i love your new layout; it’s simple, but very beautiful nevertheless. )

  15. Welcome back, I usually find it hard to htink of something to blog about lol.
Sorry to hear about your town hopefully there isn’t too much damage

  16. It still amazes me every time I get a comment on my website that a stranger cared enough to read my blog and respond.

  17. I don’t think you should stop blogging either. You could very easily maintain the site without a blog, but why? If blogging is something that you want to do, then do it! If you don’t want to update your blog for 2 months, then don’t. Seriously. As far as the layout goes, I love the colors! Take care. :p

  18. sometimes i think that my blogs are boring but you know, people still comment on it.
besides, i like to think of a blog as some sort of “online diary”

    keep blogging!

  19. Ello again.
I don’t think you should stop posting. I don’t even blog on a regular basis. Nor do a lot of other people I know of. Its just a habit to post every once in awhile when there is actually something to talk about. Besides, I don’t have the free-time lately.

  20. Ooooh lovely new layout! I love it!

You pose an interesting question there. I had to pause while reading and ask myself why I decided to start a blog. I think your reasons are justified. There’s a particular thrill in knowing that what you write is being read. Comments are always lovely too.

I have a diary in real life but sometimes a blog is useful for ranting about things that require other people’s opinions or sympathies, hehe. Sometimes we just want someone to relate to us.

I like the way you write though. It’s great that you put a little bit of humour into your posts. Posting becomes easier the more you do it. You’ll get into the habit of it and possibly get addicted too.

  21. Everyone has their own reasons for why they blog. Thanks for letting us know yours.
