KaaaaaPOOOOOFY
KaaaaaPOOOOOOFY is the noise I make when I sneeze. Sort of. Not. (It’s actually quite high-pitched and oh so sweet that people tell me they think my sneezes are cute. Strange to thing bacteria flying towards you is cute, but, whatever floats your dingy - I mean boat).
Anyway, why the KaaaaaPOOOOOOFY-ness? Well as of about 3/4 hours ago I came down with a nice case of the common cold.
It’s strange though, I’ve had the feeling of ‘cold like’ symptoms for a couple of weeks now, but nothing came of it - until tonight of course.
The last time I was regularly engulfing cold-causing bacteria via my phagocytes was… *thinks* January. When I had my oh so important and oh so hard Physics exam. Nice.
So from January, to the last day of July, sure ain’t bad for going without the ZURGY. Oh wait, is it lurgy? Hmm I don’t know. I like the ‘z’ - so from now on the common cold is now ‘zurgy’, on this post anyway.
But why did it have to happen now? I finished a 13 day straight stunt at work on Saturday, but unfortunately had another one start on Monday. Poop. I can’t afford to be KaaaaaPOOOOOFY-ing everywhere all over the shelves, food, and well, customers (I don’t mind KaaaaaPOOOOOFY-ing over my manager though - teehee!).
I need the moolah too much to not go to work! Gah!
Ho hum. I’ll just push through it. If I don’t let it take hold, it can’t stay… right? Hmm.
With that in mind (and a glance at the clock), I’m going to rest my runny nozzle, and what-feels-like-sand-scratched throat, and lie in bed with a book. Or just go to sleep, I have yet to decide.
Oh yeah, I’ve been ‘munching’ some rather weird catarrh pastilles, but they keep sticking to my teeth! Not enjoyable, let me tell you! But they seem to help, at least whilst they are actually in my mouth.
Strange though, they’ve started to make me lose feelings within my left cheek. Face cheek not butt cheek. That would be strange!
Before I go - thanks for all the lovely comments on my last entry; I promise to not KaaaaaPOOOOOFY you too much!

Aww, having a cold sucks big time. I hope you get better soon.
*bless you* Hope the cold gets better. I have the morning sniffles right now. Which is absolutely annoying. I wake up sneezing and feeling all stuffy. No wonder I don’t want to wake up. lol. Get well soon!!
Apparently if you take zinc lasenges when you first feel a cold coming on, you won’t get one.
Are you using wordpress and if so how do you do that ajax circle and then the comments coming down?
I know what to do as far as your sore scratchy throat is concerned. Boil some water and put it into a mug. Add lemon juice (or just squeeze it directly from a lemon—or lime!). Then add some honey for flavor. It will still taste bad
so then add some sugar. It works almost every time!
Aw I hope you’ll be better soon. I’ve had a cold for weeks now, and it won’t go away. If it lasts too long, maybe you should see a doctor?
Aww poor you colds are horrible, I hope you feel better soon.
i hope you feel better soon! i had a cold couple days ago too.
drink some tea, that always helps
Ka-Poofy? XD Emz, you’re hilarious.
Munching what? Mari has NO idea what those are.
You did better than Mari at not getting a cold. Just by a few days, though. Mari had a cold mid-January then again in mid-july.
Not sure if they have it in England, but if they do, try Zican Homeopathic Remedy Nose Swabs. They make it a thousand times better.
Do feel better soon.
hey, I TAGGED u on my blog if you care.
I love your layout
I’ve sneezed like that a few times, but I have a friend who sneezes like that all the time >.
Hey! Aww I hope that you feel better. I don’t like colds boo lol. The runny nose gets on my nerves. I remember one of my ex friends use to sneeze and it sounded like f-u lol.
You have my complete and utter sympathy. I too am plagued with the “aww what a cute sneeze” as well. Thing is, my sneezes rarely sound the same every time so I also get nice commentary of “was that a sneeze? How cute!” and a ton of laughter.
KaaaaaPOOOOOFY on me all you want, they have yet to prove that colds can be passed through the internet. (imagen if they could though!) I hope you get better soon though.
Aww, your sneeze noise sounds cute
But aww, sorry you have the cold, never fun
And urgh, I hate being ill around physics exams.. scary things they are
Dude, you are TOTALLY abusing your “my commentors care about me more than my parents” privilege. I mean, if you’re going to talk about how you sneeze and your cold, you could at least make it more interesting. Like, you have purple snot coming out of your ears. Or something.
That sucks that you’re sick. I keep drinking orange juice because I’m so sure that I’m going to get sick soon. And I know what you mean with the work thing, I’m getting burned out but I need the money too much to even take any vacation time…
lol you should record your sneeze because now I’m curious XD
Hope you feel better.
Lol apparently I have a somewhat cute sneeze too: JUUUU. With like a reasonably high-pitch little girl voice.
Well, hope you get well soon! It’s really not great to get a cold anytime, but during exams is even worse.
Eeek I had meant to be more ‘present’ in the comments but due to said KaaaaPoooofy-ness and offline commitments I haven’t been here as much as I should have been….
Thanks to everyone who wished me well, I think it’s not far from disappearing now
P.S. New post shortly - me just needs to have some lunch!
I giggled through this entry lol. The kaapoofy stuff and “thats my face cheek not butt cheek” you are too adorable. I’m sorry your cold all of a sudden came on worse. I hate colds and I can’t take them especially when I’m constantly wiping my nose and it becomes so sore that I can’t anymore and have to sniff it down my throat lol. Hopefully it’ll go away soon. Take care.
Hahaha, what a funny entry, it made me smile. Although I hope you get rid of your colds, quick.
What I do with scratchy throat and runny noses is drink lots and lots of orange juice.
It helps, somewhat.
